Harvest Thyme Swiss & Apple Brunchwich
Ingredients
- 8 slices bacon
- 2 large McIntosh or Granny Smith apples
- 4 English muffins, split, lightly toasted
- 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh thyme or 1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
- 2 cups (8 oz.) Sargento® Artisan Blends® Shredded Swiss Cheese
Directions
- Cook bacon in skillet, turning occasionally, until crisp. Drain on paper towels, reserving drippings. Cut each slice in half.
- Core apples; cut each crosswise into four 1/2-inch thick slices. Reserve ends for another use. Cook apples in 1 tablespoon bacon drippings over medium-high heat 3 minutes per side or until golden brown and tender.
- Place muffin halves on baking sheet. Place one apple slice on each; sprinkle thyme over apple slices; top with 2 pieces of bacon and cheese. Broil 5 inches from heat source 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
