John Brody's Fondue

Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups dry white wine
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and cut in half
  • 1 Tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 3-3/4 cups (15 oz.) Sargento® Artisan Blends™ Shredded Swiss Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Kirsch (any flavored vodka or brandy will also work)
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. ground mustard (optional)
  • Freshly ground nutmeg to taste

Directions

  1. Rub the inside of the fondue pot with garlic. Add wine and lemon juice and bring to a gentle simmer. Add cheese slowly and continue stirring until all the cheese has melted.
  2. Combine the Kirsch, cornstarch and mustard and add to the wine and cheese mixture. Season with nutmeg and serve.
